"A HUGE thank you to Mike for escorting my husband and myself around the Werribee site yesterday. He scared up some real beauties and I got 27 lifers out of the deal. " Visitors from Florida, April 2016.
Make no mistake Australia is a big continent. Victoria, the smallest mainland state, is similar in land area to Minnesota and the entire United Kingdom. It extends from sandy surf beaches in the south to arid mallee country in the north east, high mountain ranges in the north west with a variety of different wetland, dry woodland, temperate rainforest and open country habitats in between.
Within Australia over 800 species of birds have been recorded with 45% of these being endemic. Over 500 of these have been recorded in the state of Victoria.
While we are based in Victoria we have experience through much of Australia (and New Zealand). The aim of Acanthiza is to work with you to tailor a tour to suit what you would like to see, the time you have available, and your budget. Get in touch and the planning can begin!
